Survey

Thank you for checking out our research on Trust in Local News Media. This project, conducted by Media Department faculty members at Duquesne University and in conjunction with the Duquesne University Institute for Ethics and Integrity in Journalism, seeks to examine how residents in Allegheny County view local, national, and international news sources.

It seems that while our need for accurate information has never been greater, trust in news media has steadily deteriorated. In fact, the national decline in trust in the news media is well documented.

But what about local audiences? What about you? How do your media habits influence your perceptions? How do you define “news” and “information”—are they the same thing? And how do those personal definitions influence the way you view media?

These are just some of the questions this research project, Trust in Local News Media: How Consumers Value News and Journalism Ethics, seeks to answer.

But we need YOUR opinion.
