Dr. Pamela E. Walck (Ph.D., Ohio University) is an associate professor of journalism in the Media Department at Duquesne University and the editor of American Journalism. She is currently working on her first book, Voices of the Pittsburgh Courier: Mrs. Robert Vann and the Men and Women of America’s ‘Best’ Weekly. A sixteen-year veteran of the newsroom, she has been teaching journalism ethics, newswriting and editing for the last ten years. Her research focuses on the innovation of social media and technology in newsrooms, historic journalism, and the African-American press during World War II.

Maggie Jones Patterson (M.F.A., University of Pittsburgh) a professor of journalism in the Media Department at Duquesne University, is a former reporter for the Pittsburgh Press. She has co-authored four books, including Murder in our Midst: Comparing the Ethics of Crime Coverage in a Globalized Age (2021, Oxford University Press). She teaches Investigative Reporting, Media Ethics, Media Writing, and a course about gender in media, entitled Sex, Myth, and Media. She chairs the Duquesne University Student Publications Board, is a board member of the Pittsburgh Society of Professional Journalists chapter and PublicSource, an online nonprofit news service for the Pittsburgh area, and the Women’s and Gender Studies program at Duquesne.

Dr. Zeynep Tanes (Ph.D., Purdue University) is an associate professor in the Media Department at Duquesne University. Her research focuses on the impact of interactive media on the individual and the society. She has published her research on new media usage and perceptions in numerous academic journals including Electronic News, and Journalism and Mass Communication Educator. Her research on audience perceptions of news credibility and quality produced with multiplatform technologies have been recognized by international and national organizations such as ICA and BEA. She teaches a range of courses including Media Literacy, Media Research Methods, Interactive Media Marketing.
